A man has sadly died in hospital after his motorcycle crashed with an HGV in Angus on Monday morning.

26-year-old Darian Baird, from Brechin, was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee following the incident on the B9113 at Pitkennedy at 11.20am, but passed away in the early hours of this morning.

The 47-year-old male driver of the lorry did not require hospital treatment.

Sergeant Gordon Dickson, from Tayside Divisional Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with Darian’s family and friends at this difficult time.

Our enquiries remain ongoing and I would urge anyone with information which hasn’t yet been passed to police to contact 101 with reference number 1079 of 24 July.”
