Manhunt after Hamilton cannabis discovery

A manhunt is underway after the discovery of cannabis worth a quarter of million pounds in South Lanarkshire,

Officers searched two addresses on Hamilton’s Comely Bank earlier today.

A quantity of cannabis worth £245,000 was recovered and officers are working to trace those responsible.

Sergeant Andy Murray of Hamilton Police Station said: “Enquiries are continuing into this recovery to establish the full circumstances and trace those involved.

“We would appeal to anyone with information to contact us through 101, quoting incident number 2430 of 29 May.

“Drugs cause misery in our communities and the public has an important role to play in helping us target those involved in the cultivation, supply and sale of illegal substances.

“We encourage anyone with concerns or information about drugs in their community to contact us through 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
