Man being treated for serious injuries after Montrose attack

A 30 year-old man is in hospital with serious injuries after an assault in Montrose.

Police believe the victim had an altercation with a small group of two men and two women in the High Street area, before being attacked by two men on Castle Place.

It happened around 3.30am on Friday.

The first man is described as being white, around 5ft 7 and average build, in his early 20s, with short ginger hair.

The second is described as being white, slightly taller than the first man, with a stocky build, in his early 20s.

He had short, curly dark hair and was wearing jeans.

Detective Inspector Graham Lee said: “We are carrying out extensive enquiries into this incident, including searching through local CCTV.

“We are aware that a numerous members of the public interacted with the victim and suspects before and after the attack.

“We are appealing for anyone who was in the area and witnessed the circumstances, or believes they may have any information which could assist our enquiries, to please come forward.
