Man and woman in hospital after suspected hammer attack in Dundee

The pair were taken to Ninewells Hospital after the incident on Sunday morning

Two people are recovering in hospital after a suspected hammer attack in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The incident happened around 5.35am on August 25, when police were called to reports of a “serious assault” at a property on Ballindean Road.

A 45 year old man and a 44 year old woman were taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment.

Police Scotland said inquiries into the incident are ongoing, but that it is believed to be isolated and there is no wider risk to the public.
