Jim McIntyre has been named as the new manager of Arbroath, the cinch Championship side has confirmed.

The former Dunfermline, Ross County, and Dundee boss replaces Dick Campbell who quit nine days ago.

He joins the club in ninth place in the cinch Championship and has his first game in charge at home to Greenock Morton on Saturday.

Jim McIntyre said: “The one thing Ill try and do is play entertaining football and try and make sure we get some good goal scoring opportunities and I’d like you all to get right behind the team.

“Obviously, it’s been a sticky period with results but don’t forget this team won four on the bounce in September in the league so it just shows you what they’re capable of.

“We understand fully they’ve got to do their bit to get you off your seats.”
