The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have extinguished a bin set on fire in the grounds of St Madoes Primary School in Perth.

The fire was set overnight on Tuesday, 2nd April 2024, with the fire service alerted at around 1:37am.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 1.37am on Tuesday, 2 April to reports of a fire in the open on Sidlaw Terrace, Perth.

"Operations Control mobilised one fire appliance to the scene, where firefighters extinguished a bin on fire within a school grounds.

"There were no casualties and crews left at 1.58am after ensuring the area was safe."

Perth and Kinross Council have been approached for comment.
