Family of hillwalker missing for almost two years informed after body found

The family of a hillwalker missing since January last year have been informed, after a body was found in Blairgowrie.

The discovery was made around 4.50pm yesterday in the Glenfernate area.

Ross Kinghorn, 57, was last seen near Blair Atholl in Perthshire.

Police don’t believe there are any suspicious circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.50pm on Tuesday, 10 September, 2024, the body of a man was found in the Glenfernate area of Blairgowrie.

“Formal identification is yet to take place but the family of missing man Ross Kinghorn has been informed.

“There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
