Dundee City Council has confirmed all primary and secondary schools will be closed to pupils for three days next week due to strikes.

Unison members working for the council and Unite members at Tayside contracts are walking out from Tuesday 26 September to Thursday 28 September.

The council said it has had to make the decision because a high number of school support staff are involved in the action and it would not be possible to open to buildings safely without them.

However, teachers will continue to work and online learning will be provided for pupils.

The council is able to open the following seven nurseries:

• Hill View Nursery

• Coldside nursey

• Caird View Nursery

• Woodlea Nursery

• Wallacetown Nursery

• Balluniefield Nusery

• Longhaugh Nursery

All establishments will reopen on Friday 29 September.
