Police appeal after cyclist, 74, dies in crash with car and two bikes in Angus

Officers are trying to establish the full circumstances of the accident

A woman has died following a crash involving two cyclists and a car in Angus.

Around 2.25pm on Friday, 16 June 2023, police received a report of a road crash involving a silver Ford Fiesta car and two bicycles on the B965 Friockheim to Arbroath Road.

Emergency services attended and a 76-year-old male cyclist and 74-year-old female cyclist were taken to hospital.

The 74-year-old woman later died in hospital. The driver of the car, a 25-year-old man was uninjured in the incident.

An investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances of the crash.

Sergeant William Strachan said: “My thoughts are with the family at this time and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the collision to contact us. In particular if you have dash cam equipment, please check the footage as it could assist in our ongoing investigation.”
