A number of charity clothing banks have been broken into in Dundee.

A Salvation Army bank on Riverside Drive and another on South Road were targeted between January 18 and 20.

Clothing was stolen on both occasions.

Police Scotland says it is aware of similar incidents last year in Tayside, Fife and Glasgow but can’t confirm if they are linked.

Sergeant John Maddocks said: “Incidents such as this are very disruptive for the charity trying to raise funds for good causes.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have information to call 101, quoting reference 3052 or 3112 of 22 January.”
