The body of a man has been pulled from a river in Angus.

Emergency services made the discovery around 10:55pm yesterday in the River North Esk at Edzell.

There is not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The body of a 51-year-old man was recovered from the River North Esk at Edzell around 10.55pm on Sunday, 19 November.

“There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
