A number of streets remain closed in Blairgowrie a day after a gas leak in the Perthshire town.

The leak was reported at around 2pm on Wednesday, 24th July, on Terminus Street.

Gas Brae, Commercial Street and a section of Back Brae have been closed while SGN engineers complete a repair of the damaged gas main.

It's unknown when surrounding streets will re-open.

The public are being asked to avoid the area.

SGN posted an update on their website, saying: "Our engineers are continuing emergency repairs in Terminus Street, Blairgowrie following third party damage to our gas main.

"The nearby Tesco Superstore and petrol station have been evacuated and closed as a precaution for safety reasons.
