Woman racially abused in Swindon

Police have released images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident

At approximately 7am on January 12, a man was heard shouting and swearing whilst walking along Grange Drive, in Stratton.

The man then approached a woman and ripped her glasses from her face before attempting to punch her. Fortunately, she didn’t sustain any injuries but she was left extremely shaken up.

During the incident, the victim - who is aged in her 40s - was racially abused.

Following the incident, it is believed the man approached the Number 7 bus and caused a disorder.

He is described as white, approximately 6 ft tall, wearing a black bomber jacket, black jogging bottoms and a cap.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the assault, or anyone who may have been on the bus and witnessed the disorder to get in touch.
