Woman jailed for smuggling Class A drugs into Swindon

A woman who helped smuggle Class A drugs into Swindon over a period of months has been jailed for 30 months. 25-year-old Alisha Bell, from Lambeth in London, was involved in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin between 17th June 2018 and 15th March 2019 - travelling on public transport to evade police.

She was arrested in Swindon in June 2018, on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs after being seen completing a suspected deal and then traced to an address where a large quantity of drugs, with a street value of £990 were found.

Appearing before Swindon Crown Court on Monday 7th February 2022, Bell was sentenced to 30 months in prison, having pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin, and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

"County Lines drugs supply is a national problem and needs to be continually targeted".

Detective Constable Gareth Snoad from Wiltshire Police's Fortitude Team says "Alisha Bell was involved in the supply of Class A drugs from London into Swindon for many months - exploiting vulnerable people through their addiction, whilst also benefiting from the crime."

"We - as a force - are committed to tackling County Lines and will continue to target those involved in the supply of Class A drugs within our county, our towns and our villages.”
