Woman cut from car after crash in Swindon

A road in Swindon has now re-opened after a crash.

Police and the fire service were called to Greenbridge roundabout at 1.40pm - following reports of a crash involving a van and a car.

A female passenger, who was trapped in a vehicle, was cut free by firefighters.

She was taken to hospital.

In a statement, Wiltshire Police said: "We were called to Greenbridge, Swindon at 1.40pm today following a report of a collision involving a van and a BMW 116D. One female passenger was reported to be trapped inside a vehicle and is currently being dealt with by the fire service. The road remains blocked.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire service said in a statement: "We were called to Greenbridge roundabout in Swindon at 1.43pm today (16 May) following a road traffic collision between a car and a van. Two crews attended, from Swindon and Stratton fire stations, and hydraulic cutting equipment was used to free a female casualty from one of the vehicles. She was handed into the care of the ambulance service."
