Wiltshire woman gets stuck in tree rescuing pet parrot
Firefighters were called to rescue a woman who was stuck in a tree trying to rescue her parrot
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue were called to rescue a woman who was stuck in a tree, rescuing her parrot in Trowbridge on Saturday morning She was stuck 18 ft (5.4m) above the ground and firefighters used a ladder to bring the woman safely back to ground level.
Crews from Trowbridge, Chippenham, Warminster and Devizes were sent to help the woman after receiving a call from a member of the public.
In a statement, the fire service says "We of course understand the emotional attachments to pets of any species, but please take this incident as a reminder of the danger posed by attempting to rescue without any specialist assistance."
