Wiltshire Police will face scrutiny this week from the Police watchdog.

His Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) will be assessing the improvements made by the force, which remains in special measures.

The latest round of Policing effectiveness, efficiency and legitimacy checks start today (11/3).

Progress has been made by the organisation since Chief Constable Catherine Roper took office, and she's welcomed the HMICFRS visit.

The inspector leading the checks is HMI Wendy Williams. She's already met with the Chief and her team of Chief Officers, where they were able to explain the changes that have been made under Chief Constable Roper's leadership.

In her open letter on 1st March, CC Roper said: "2024 is a significant year for the Force as we seek to consolidate our various strands of improvement into long term, meaningful and sustained change."

It's not known if the inspection can result in the force being brought out of the engage process, which it's been in since mid-2022.
