Wiltshire police called to two serious crashes due to weather

There's a warning about black ice

Emergency teams in Wiltshire have been called to two serious crashes.

Officers were called by the ambulance service to the B3089 in Berwick St Leonard at 5.50pm yesterday (Monday) following a collision involving two vehicles. One of the vehicles had flipped on to its side.

The air ambulance attended the scene and a woman has been taken to hospital in a serious condition. The road is currently closed.

Later in the evening, police were called by the fire service to the B4039 Yatton Keynell, near Chippenham, shortly before 7.30pm following a report of a collision involving three vehicles.

The road remains closed while the incident is dealt with.

The police control room is continuing to receive multiple reports of black ice across the county and driving conditions are difficult.
