Final call to have a say on Wiltshire Council's Local Plan
The document sets out development areas for the next 15 years
Time's running out for Wiltshire residents to have a say on the county's Local Plan - with a consultation closing on Wednesday (22nd November).
The Council has to draw up a document that sets out land earmarked for housing development and employment space for the next 15 years.
A series on in-person events and webinars have been held over the last seven weeks, with an online survey still open for comments too. www.wiltshire.gov.uk/local-plan
Cllr Nick Botterill, Cabinet Member for Strategic Planning, said:
“The Local Plan is a very important policy as it sets out the vision and framework for housing, infrastructure and land for employment growth in Wiltshire for the next 15 years.
“During this consultation we have held 16 well-attended in-person events around the county and an online webinar that has been watched online more than 1,100 times. It has been really positive that so many people have already taken the opportunity to find out about the Plan and submit comments.
“This is the most ambitious Local Plan Wiltshire has ever seen, with new zero carbon standards for homes, increased biodiversity, and more affordable homes.
“I would urge anyone who hasn’t yet submitted comments to do so before the consultation ends.”
