Urgent search as crashed car found empty in Swindon

There's an update on the serious crash in Swindon overnight.

Officers say they're 'very concerned' for the welfare of those inside a car which was found empty - after it crashed into a tree on the A419 Commonhead roundabout.

They're appealing for anyone with information to get in touch following the incident.

Officers said: "We are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a serious collision on the A419 Commonhead roundabout in Swindon yesterday evening (16/01).

"At around 9.50pm, a blue Mazda 6 TS2 is thought to have left the roundabout and collided with a tree, causing significant damage.

"Upon attendance, the vehicle was found to be empty.

"We are very concerned for the welfare of the occupants, and our enquiries are ongoing to identify and locate them.

"It is a possibility that they were picked up from the collision scene and we are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this to get in touch.

"If you can help, please contact us on 101 quoting log 312 of yesterday’s date (16/01)."
