UPDATED: Woman arrested after teenage boy injured in hit and run in Swindon

A woman's been arrested after a suspected hit and run in Swindon which left a teenage boy in a critical condition.

It happened around 8.20am on Akers Way. The pedestrian – a 14-year-old boy – was taken to Southmead Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle involved left the scene .

The woman's been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.
