Tips on keeping your home safe

Wiltshire Police have a dedicated website, helping residents to keep their homes safe from burglars.

These tips include:

  • Door and window locks - choose burglar-proof door and window locks, and always double-lock your door when you leave the house
  • Door security - make sure your door looks as secure as possible, and fit a guard for your letterbox
  • Window security - use laminated window film, and make sure windows aren't left open when you leave your home
  • Living in a flat - you can still keep your property secure if you live in a flat by installing CCTV, and always let your managing agent if a security feature (such as a light) needs replacing
