Three arrested over Swindon affray

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses

An altercation happened outside the Abbey Meads pub in Elstree Way at around 11.10pm on 23 October.

A man has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker in relation to the incident.

Two men aged 27 and 29 were also arrested at the time on suspicion of affray and have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Local Crime Investigator Ben Williams, from Swindon Community Policing Team, said: “While we have made arrests, and someone has been charged in connection with this incident, our wider enquiries are still ongoing and we would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed what happened.

“We believe that a man was seen holding a metal pole and we’re particularly interested in hearing from anyone who witnessed this.”
