Lord Sugar's search for a new business partner is well underway and Greatest Hits Radio has spoken to one of the candidates - from Swindon!

Kathryn Burn has made it through to Week Five, narrowly avoiding getting fired in last week's episode.

Following a task where contestants created a fish dish to sell to the public, the 29-year-old was on the losing team Infinity. Project manager Alex Short then elected Kathryn to be part of his final three in the boardroom, knowing at least one of the candidates would get the sack.

Kathryn said: "Your heart is beating so fast, and you're just thinking: 'Please, please don't fire me!'

"The key as well is owning-up, if you do something wrong. Don't try and pass the blame.

"All three of us messed-up on the last task. We all forgot to sell the fish".

On this occasion, the project manager was held accountable for Infinity's failure, with Alex getting the boot from Lord Sugar.

Kathryn describes herself as Swindon "born and bred". The former Dorcan Academy student has lived in the town for the vast majority of her life - and currently runs two online pyjama stores, which she founded, from her Swindon home.

In recent years, Kathryn has also built-up a successful wedding accessory business.

But none of this prepared the entrepreneur for the public recognition that she's received since the first episode aired in January.

"I went out the other week and it was really weird, everyone knew who I was!

"I'm just the same person going about my normal life, but now people know who I am," she said.

According to Kathryn, the process of filming The Apprentice last summer was "so intense" and "non-stop". Many of the challenges commence in the early hours of the morning - and during some weeks two tasks are recorded.

However, despite the trials and tribulations of the experience, she says living under the same roof as the fellow contestants was her favourite aspect of participating in the show.

"We had such a laugh off-camera. It was good because everything seemed to be left in the boardroom ... (the tasks) would kind of all be forgotten about.

"I absolutely loved the house," she added.

Episode five of The Apprentice 2022 airs at 9pm on Thursday 3 February.
