Teenager suffers 'potentially life changing injuries' after shooting in Swindon

A teenager has suffered 'potentially life changing' injuries following a shooting in the early hours of this morning.
Officers are currently at the scene of the incident, which happened in Odstock Road, Penhill at about 12:30am.
Police say a teenage boy suffered the serious injuries which are currently thought to have been 'caused by a firearm'.
The 17-year-old victim who was shot was taken to hospital by air ambulance where he is currently receiving treatment.
Detective Chief Inspector Charlotte Tucker said: “We are actively investigating this incident with all the resources at our disposal.
“We would be very grateful to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of this incident and may have seen what happened. We are also appealing to anyone in the area to check CCTV, dashcam or doorbell camera footage from overnight 23rd into 24th April.
“This attack has left a young man with serious injuries and he is currently undergoing hospital treatment. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
“There is not thought to be any threat to the wider public at this time.”
