Swindon woman jailed for drug offences
Its after a raid in the town in September 2020
A Swindon woman has been jailed for three years after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.
Kelley Marie Morland, 42, of Luna Close, Oakhurst, also pleaded guilty to money laundering and possession of class B when she was sentenced at Swindon Crown Court on December 8.
On September 4, 2020, PC Sean Williams from the North, East and Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team, who covers the North Swindon area, conducted a warrant at Morland’s address.
The warrant was gained as a result of community intelligence received. PC Williams and team located Morland inside the address with cocaine with a street value of approximately £3,000, as well as cash and drugs paraphernalia.
PC Williams said: "When the team and I carried out the warrant at Morland’s house, we not only located several thousand pounds worth of class A drugs which was of 92 per cent purity, but also £3,000 cash and drugs paraphernalia including a dealer phone with details of local drug users.
"I am pleased that as a result of this warrant which was carried out by local neighbourhood officers, this woman has been given a prison sentence.
"Supplying class A drugs on this scale to vulnerable people within our community is totally unacceptable and it is positive news that we have been able to disrupt this supply chain and protect some of the most vulnerable people in society.
"Drugs can have such a detrimental effect on a community and can lead to anti-social behaviour and violent crime. We take all reports of suspected drug use seriously and would encourage anyone who has concerns to report them to us immediately. Call 101 or 999 if a crime is in progress."
