Swindon Town are one step closer to a date with destiny at Wembley.

The Robins have beaten Port Vale 2-1, in the first leg of their League Two play-off semi-final.

A brace from Harry McKirdy gave Town the upper-hand at the County Ground, with the former Port Vale forward scoring both sides of the half-time whistle.

However, a late James Wilson goal for the visitors means the tie is finely poised for the second leg.

The Robins have thanked supporters for their "incredible support" throughout the 90 minutes, with a capacity crowd leaving the County Ground rocking.

The aggregate winner will face either Northampton Town or Mansfield Town in the play-off final at Wembley Stadium next week.

The second leg at Vale Park kicks-off at 19:45 on Thursday 19 May.
