Swindon Town's Director of Football has resigned, less than a year after joining the club.

Ben Chorley leaves the County Ground just 10 days after the The Robins lost their League Two play-off semi-final in agonising fashion, crashing-out to Port Vale on penalties.

Joining Town after a turbulent season that included relegation from League One, and uncertainty surrounding the club's ownership, Chorley contributed significantly to a 2021/22 campaign which included more success than was widely expected.

As well as the play-offs, a healthy FA Cup run led to The Robins hosting Premier League champions Manchester City in the Third Round.

'We wish him all the best in the future'

The 39-year-old was hired in the immediate aftermath of Clem Morfuni's takeover of Town last summer.

In a statement, Mr Morfuni said: "I personally, and on behalf of Swindon Town Football Club, would like to thank Ben Chorley for all the hard work he has done.

"We wish him all the best in the future in his endeavours.

"Please bare with us as we continue to strengthen our club ahead of the 2022-23 season. Come on you Robins".
