Former Swindon Town player Alan McLoughlin has died at the age of 54.
He appeared 106 times for The Robins during his professional playing career, which spanned 18 years, and had also been The Robins' Academy Manager since 2016.
During the 1990s, he won 42 caps for the Republic of Ireland. McLoughlin ensured his country qualified for the 1994 World Cup finals, scoring a critical equaliser against Northern Ireland.
His other clubs included Portsmouth, Southampton, Torquay United and Forest Green Rovers.
McLoughlin was diagnosed with a kidney tumour in September 2012, which had spread to his remaining kidney, chest and lungs by November 2019.
Swindon Town said it was "incredibly sad" to learn of McLoughlin's death.
