Swindon Town are wishing Academy defender Harley Hunt 'the best of luck' as he's off to Middlesbrough.

The 16-year-old is the latest product of the squad to move up the English football pyramid, with the team saying they're really 'proud of his growth'.

Hunt is moving to the Championship club for an undisclosed fee having impressed in recent months, for both Town's U18s and first-team in the final few weeks of the 2023/24 season.

He also played a big role in Swindon Town U18s' FA Youth Cup run - in which they were narrowly defeated during the quarter finals.

He then made three first-team league appearances against Grimsby, Walsall, and Morecambe back in April earlier this year, and has recently been training with the squad ahead of the upcoming season - having only started his two-year scholarship at the end of the last season.

The club have revealed Hunt 'attracted significant interest' during his time with Swindon Town and within Swindon Town U18s.

Swindon Town's Academy Manager Alex Pike said: "Harley has shown huge development in his time with us, especially in the last season as a scholar and he moves on with the club's best wishes and genuine pride in the person he has become with us, and the player he has the potential to become in future if he continues to works hard to make himself better every day."

"Everyone at Swindon Town Academy is proud of his growth and we wish him good luck with his next steps."
