Swindon stabbing suspect still at large
Two teenagers were assaulted just before 6pm on Monday.
The suspect behind a stabbing in Swindon is still at large as police continue to appeal for witnesses.
Two teenagers were assaulted on a cycle path leading from Westmead Industrial Estate to Shaw Forest Park just before 6pm on Monday.
A cordon remains at the scene while investigations are carried out.
One boy suffered knife wounds, which are not thought to be life changing or threatening. He remains in hospital where he is being treated for injuries.
Another teenager suffered facial injuries after being hit. He was also treated in hospital.
Neighbourhood teams from Stratton, Central Swindon North and West Swindon are joined with response officers to carry out extra patrols and assist the investigation.
A cordon remains at the scene while investigations are carried out and will be lifted as soon as possible.
Supt Joe Saunders, from Swindon Police said: “This is concerning incident two young people have been injured.
“We’re pursuing a number of lines of enquiries and we would urge anyone with information that could help to contact us immediately.
“You may see more police officers in the area as we continue to investigate what happened and to offer some reassurance to people living locally. Please, if you do know something, talk to those officers.
“I’d like to reiterate our appeal for any witnesses to the incident or anybody who might have information to please contact us on 101, quoting log 220 of yesterday’s date."
