Pupils are back in class as normal today at two Swindon schools evacuated on Wednesday (13th September) over fears of a gas leak.

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire & Rescue, with help from neighbouring Avon Fire & Rescue, carried out extensive checks at Uplands School and Brimble Hill School in Tadpole Garden Village.

No leak was found and the smell - which saw several people checked in hospital - is believed to have come from contaminated packaging in an IT room.

The two schools on the same campus are re-open today (Thursday 14th September).
