A school in Swindon has been evacuated as police respond to reports of a 'malicious threat'.

Emergency services are at Badbury Park Primary School on Rainscombe Road.

A 200-metre cordon has been set up around the school.

Police are at the scene

Wiltshire Police say specialist officers are on the scene and the school has followed its emergency evacuation plans as a precaution.

One mum we spoke to said she found out something was happening after getting a call from her neighbour: "It was pretty scary because obviously we didn't know what was going on with the kids.

"My neighbour rang me and we were thinking about how to get our kids because the roads are all blocked off."

Wiltshire Police say the cordon and road closures are expected to remain in place until around 20:00.

Respite is available to misplaced people, who have been affected by evacuations, at the Spotted Cow Pub in Coate Lane.

Our reporter is outside the school and says there are police dogs on the scene, with officers appearing to be searching cars in the area.

"We are all ok."

In a post on Facebook, the school said: "School is being evacuted so please collect children.

"Please collect children who walk from home. Further info to follow.

"We are all ok."

Police say they will issue a further update when appropriate.

This story is being updated as it develops.

The school posted on Facebook to say "we are all ok".
