Swindon school budget in deficit

Swindon Borough Council's warning the budgets for schools in the borough were hugely overspent in the last financial year.

The £3 million cost overrun has been added to the Swindon’s Direct School’s Grant deficit, which is £8.3m.

By law, the borough has now to come up with a plan to cut its deficit and balance the budget over the next three years.
