Police officers have been acting on community intelligence and disrupting drug activity in Swindon.

Between 15 and 18 October, officers from the South Swindon Neighbourhood Policing Team executed a number of Misuse of Drugs warrants in the Parks and Walcot areas.

This followed information from members of the public about concern about drug dealing at various addresses.

One address is now subject to a partial Closure Order, which prohibits anyone other than the registered occupants from being at the property.

A 36-year old man was arrested for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. He has since been released under investigation while our enquiries continue.

A 48-year old man was also arrested for being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs. He has since been released under investigation while our enquiries continue.

PC Whettam said: "Firstly, we would like to thank the members of the public for reporting their concerns to us, so we could take the appropriate action.

"These warrant are a direct result of these reports, with that information developed by officers so we could apply to the courts for these warrants.

"We would continue to urge anyone who has concerns about drug dealing in their local community to report it to us."

The Police is urging anyone with information to either call 101 or report via an online form on the Wiltshire Police website. You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
