Swindon motorcyclist banned from roads for drink driving

A motorcyclist's been banned from driving for a drink drive collision in Swindon.

It happened in Dorcan around 5.30pm on July 14th - when a motorcycle was involved in a collision with a car.

60 year-old Clifford Reynolds, of Haven Close in Stratton St Margaret provided a roadside breath test which showed he was over the legal limit.

He was arrested and charged with drink driving - after appearing in court he was banned from driving for 20 months and fined £200.

PC Luke Hobbs, of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “Consuming alcohol before driving or riding a motorcycle will seriously impact on your ability to stay safe on the roads. You are putting yourself and other road users at risk - it is extremely fortunate that nobody was injured during this collision.”
