Festival-goers were eagerly anticipating the event at Lydiard Park

A Swindon festival that was set to take place next month has been cancelled for 2022.

MFor Festival organisers say the decision has been made "with great sadness". Their plans were heavily impacted by the cost-of-living crisis, with fewer tickets sold than expected.

Other reasons for the cancellation include the war in Ukraine driving petrol prices up and confusion with festival-goers over another unrelated event, Live at Lydiard, which was cancelled earlier this month.

MFor, which was scheduled for 29th and 30th July at Lydiard Park, will now take place on 28th and 29th July 2023.

Artists including James Arthur, STEPS and Tinie Tempah were all due to perform at this year's event, with the aim of fundraising to support military personnel.

'We are devastated'

MFor organisers, Graham Stobbs and Debra Collins, said: "We are devastated that we have to postpone the festival.

"We have put our hearts and souls into bringing a brilliant music festival and family fun day to Swindon and are really upset that these circumstances beyond our control mean we can't go ahead in July".

Tickets for this year's event will be automatically valid for the new 2023 dates.
