A 40 year-old man from Swindon's been jailed for nine years for supplying drugs in Swindon.

Carlon Elwin of Galsworthy Close was arrested as part of enforcement operation against organised crime groups in Swindon.

Police say he was responsible for hundreds of street deals.

During sentencing, Judge Jason Taylor QC made reference to the images of substantial blocks of compressed cocaine and large bundles of cash which were found on Elwin’s phone, saying: “A picture paints a thousand words”, going on to describe Elwin’s offending as “going from 0 to 100.”

Detective Inspector Dean Garvin from the Serious and Organised Crime Unit said:"Judge Taylor was clear in his view of those criminals that supply drugs on our streets. The Justice system will not tolerate it. If it wasn't for the fact that he finally pled guilty Mr Elwin would have faced 11 years in prison.

"People are entitled to be safe when they walk the streets of Swindon and my plan is to put more organised criminals before our Judges in support of that.

"We will now pursue every asset and penny that Mr Elwin has through our financial investigation team and the civil courts."
