Swindon man jailed for supply of class A drugs
Saeedul Ali was sentenced on Tuesday
A Swindon man has been jailed for more than five years for his involvement in the supply of class A drugs in the town.
Saeedul Ali, 22, of Beckhampton Street, was sentenced on Tuesday at Swindon Crown Court, after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs between September and October 2022.
Ali was located by officers from the Fortitude team at an address of a vulnerable drug user in the town on October 16, after a month-long investigation.
Inside the flat, the drugs line and thousands of pounds worth of heroin were located.
Ali, who has previous convictions for drug supply, pleaded guilty at the end of last year.
PC Nick Finning, from the Fortitude team, said: “Ali was involved in the supply of a significant amount of heroin onto the streets of Swindon and our investigation also showed he was involved in the supply of crack cocaine at the same time.
“We were able to show the involvement of others who await sentencing and safeguarded a vulnerable tenant whose property had been taken over by Ali and his co-accused.
“The Fortitude team is committed to targeting prolific offenders who cause the most harm within our communities and I am pleased a lengthy sentence of five years and four months has been given.
“I would encourage anyone with information about the supply of drugs to report it to us via 101 or Wiltshire Police’s website.”
