Swindon man banned from roads after drug driving

A man from Swindon has been given a driving ban after pleading guilty to drug driving.

39 year-old Salih Murat of Eastlake in Swindon was sentenced at Swindon Magistrates Court on September 21 and was given a 12 month disqualification.

On December 21, 2022, officers stopped a BMW on Great Western Way - Murat tested positive for cannabis and he was arrested and later charged.

He was also fined £507, ordered to pay a surcharge of £203 and £85 costs.
