West Swindon Library has reopened, following severe water damage in September.

Flash flooding and sever storms affected the Link Centre and caused significant damage to the library's IT infrastructure, flooring, equipment and the library delivery van.

The majority of the library's services are now running as usual.

In an online post, Swindon Borough Council said: "We are are pleased to announce the location will offer the majority of standard library services with work continuing to restore printing, scanning and photocopying over the coming weeks.

"The library will reopen in a reduced space while other works continue. We’d like to thank everyone for their patience and support.

"The library will need to close again later this year for a short period to enable significant electrical works to take place to replace the flood-damaged systems. We will update on this closer to the time."
