Fire teams continue to tackle what they're describing as a 'well developed' blaze in Swindon.

A number of roads are blocked off - as crews from nine stations across the region descended on the town, following the call at about quarter to 4 this morning (7 November).

It broke out in a large commercial building - with people being urged to avoid the area around Henry Street.

We're told the emergency services will be at the scene for some time.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said: "We were called at 3.44am to Henry Street, Swindon to reports of a building fire.

"Crews from Swindon, Stratton, Westlea, Royal Wootton Bassett, Cricklade, Devizes, Marlborough, Ramsbury, Chippenham and the aerial platform ladder from Swindon attended.

"On arrival, crews found a well-developed fire within the building which is being tackled using two main lines, hose reel jets and the ALP.

"This is likely to be a protracted incident and crews will be at the scene for some time. Further updates will follow."

At 6AM, they added a further update.

Officers said: "Fleet St, Holbrook Way and Milford Street are currently inaccessible but Bus Boulevard should be reopened by 9.30am."
