Swindon Field of Remembrance opens today ahead of November 11
There will be a special ceremony later this morning
The Swindon Field of Remembrance at Lydiard Park opens today - to honour those who have been lost in World Wars I and II, and in conflicts around the world.
A special ceremony will be held later this morning, including a two minutes silence, which will take place today (November 6), and every day at 2pm while the field is open.
Swindon Borough Council said: "Join us at Lydiard Park as we honour and remember those who sadly lost their lives while serving in our Armed Forces.
"The official opening of the 2024 Swindon Field of Remembrance takes place within Lydiard Park’s Walled Garden on Wednesday 6 November at 10.45am. If you’re attending the opening service, please arrive before 10.30am.
"The Field of Remembrance will then be open daily between 10am and 4pm until Sunday 24 November. There will be a two-minute silence at 2pm each day."
