Swindon: Council Tax direct debit delay over technical issues

Council Tax and Business Rates, that were supposed to be taken as direct debits yesterday in Swindon, will now go out tomorrow.

There was a technical issue which meant they didn't go through on the first when they should have.

Swindon Borough Council have apologised and say it's now sorted.

On social media, the local authority said: "Do you pay your Council Tax or Business Rates by Direct Debit on the first of the month?

"You may have noticed that your July payment didn’t come out of your account this morning as it would usually do.

"This was due to a technical issue with our supplier which has now been resolved.

"Payments will now be taken on Thursday (3 July). Apologies for any inconvenience caused."
