Police are investigating after a suspected drink spiking in Swindon's Old Town.

It happened on Saturday evening - a 19-year-old girl had fallen unwell following a night out with a group of friends.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact police on 101.

Det Sgt Scott Anger said: “We take reports of suspected drink spiking seriously. People should be able to feel safe when going for a night out and we have dedicated night-time patrols in response to public concerns. Detectives are leading the investigation into this matter.

"We continue to work with our partner agencies and venues and have operations such as Project Vigilant as part of our preventative approach to tackling this type of offence.”
