Swindon Town Football Club will wear a one-off charity kit in their game against Bradford City this weekend (Saturday 12th April).

The Robins are showing support for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation.

That was set up in honour of former Swindon Town and Bradford City footballer Stephen Darby, along with his close friend and British Forces Veteran Chris Rimmer.

Stephen and Chris both have Motor Neurone Disease and are raising money for research into the illness with the quest of finding a cure, as well as supporting those with MND with grants and an emotional support network.

Mi Permit, the headline sponsor of Swindon Town Football Club, has agreed to remove their sponsorship of the front of the shirt for this game.

Swindon Town Football Club, Chief Commercial Officer James Watts said: “We are delighted to be able to launch this kit for the upcoming game against Bradford City. We have been speaking to the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation for a few months regarding this, and after an agreement from both the EFL and Bradford City we are delighted to launch the kit for next Saturday's game which is all white kit to pay tribute to the team that won the League Cup in 1969."

Stephen Darby said: “I only had a short loan spell at Swindon Town, but I loved every minute. The club and fans supported me on the pitch and since my diagnosis they have been massive supporters of myself, the Foundation and the fight against Motor Neuron Disease.

"Once again, the club has gone above and beyond by wearing the Foundation’s name on the front of their shirt. Myself and everyone at Darby Rimmer would like to say thank you for your continued support in the fight against MND."
