A young cyclist has died, following a collision with a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) in Collingbourne Ducis.

Emergency services were called to the A338 just before 18:30 BST on Tuesday 13 July.

The seven year-old girl was taken to Salisbury District Hospital, but sadly passed-away a short time later.

Wiltshire Police says the child's family are being supported by specially-trained officers, adding that its "thoughts are with them at this incredibly difficult time".

The incident took place on Church Street, Collingbourne Ducis

The driver of the HGV remained at the scene and no arrests have been made.

A section of road was closed for more than eight hours, allowing collision investigation work to take place.

Anyone who witnessed the crash, or has dash cam footage which could assist police enquiries, is being urged to call 101, quoting log 225 of Tuesday 13 July.
