Robert Buckland has been removed from his post as the Secretary of State for Justice.

Reacting to the announcement, the South Swindon MP said he's "deeply proud" of his achievements in the role.

"On to the next adventure," he added.

The Welsh Tory politician served as the Justice Secretary, and Lord Chancellor, for more than two years and has held the seat for South Swindon since 2010.

He was also appointed as Solicitor General for England and Wales in 2014.

Changes to Boris Johnson's top team

The barrister is not the only victim of a major cabinet reshuffle. Gavin Williamson has too been removed, as Education Secretary, and more changes are expected to Boris Johnson's top team of Ministers today.

According to Downing Street, the Prime Minister wants a strong line-up in place to help the country "build back better" from the pandemic.
