Robbie Williams has sold his country mansion in Wiltshire, after struggling to find a buyer for several years.

The former Take That star has accepted a ÂŁ6.75 million bid, despite buying the estate for ÂŁ8.1 million in 2008.

The property, nestled in Compton Bassett near Calne, features seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms and five reception rooms.

Covering 72 acres, it also hosts a helicopter hangar, leisure complex, detached cottage, two staff flats, tennis court, grass football pitch and woodland.

The 47-year-old listed the mansion in September 2021, reportedly for the third time, and it quickly became one of the most viewed properties in our area.

Despite average UK house prices increasing by around 65% since the singer bought the manor, he's accepted a ÂŁ1.35 million hit.

Haunted house?

In 2020, Williams claimed the estate had left him and his four children concerned that it was haunted.

"There is one room that I am suspicious of," he said. "It gives me the creeps. Teddy, our daughter, was sleeping in there. She doesn't any more.

"Teddy told me, 'That room scares me. I don't like that house.' I said, 'It scares me, too. You don't have to sleep there any more.'

"If there is great grief or great pain or tragedy, I think it can soak into the walls and leave an essence there that remains for a very, very long time," he added.

The singer and his wife Ayda Field now reportedly spend most of their time residing at a ÂŁ24 million manor in Switzerland.
