Repairs are beginning after a burst sewer in Swindon caused sewage waste to enter the River Ray.

It burst near to the Swindon Sewage Treatment works at Haydon End on Wednesday.

Thames Water are now working with the Environment Agency to take samples, and determine what impact the burst has had on the river.

They will now be using more than 30 tankers to remove sewage from the pumping station.

We have been told to expect noise, as well as some traffic disruption, around Thamesdown Drive as they work to fix the problem.
